Father's Day weekend

Well, Ali has had a fun weekend and she wants to share some of the highlights. As you heard last time, Ali and mommy were having some nursing issues, and so Ali got to suck on a purple Q-Tip. A lot of it ended up on her face. By Saturday morning, Ali had fashionable purple lipstick on (and a purple tongue!) So, mommy decided to dress Ali up in all purple so that she would be fashionable. Here are a few of our photo ops...what do you think? Should we send these on to "goth today" magazine?

Since we were all dressed up, Ali took a field trip with her Aunts Kelly, Cindy, and Lisa, her Uncles Seth and Brian, and her cousins Jasmine, Vanessa, Angelica, Carlyle, and Zachary (and her mommy and daddy of course) to the St. John's
Bazaar. Mommy won Alison her first carnival prize by shooting water into a target- of course the prize was a Patriots Bear!

Then on Sunday it was Ali and Daddy's first Father's day. Mommy, Daddy, and Ali had a great day together. Daddy got breakfast in bed and a portable digital photo frame so he can show off his little girl. Ali wore her "Daddy's Little Girl" shirt all day and hung out while Mom and Dad went shopping for our trip to Europe.

OK, so not everyone's a Batman fan

It has come to my attention that there may have been some disturbing images in the last post...so, to make up for it, here are some cuter Alison pictures from this past week or so...enjoy!

With one of her favorite toys at Auntie Laura's house....

With Nana Pat

Sleeping with Mommy and Daddy (and Teddy)

No, it is not halloween...

Sorry it has been a while since we last posted. During the time away, Alison took a trip to see her cousin Nate graduate from Colchester High in Vermont, and had a visit from Nana Pat, so she's been a busy little girl.

She and her Mommy are dealing with an issue right now, they seem to be sharing some sort of yeast infection, which hasn't really bothered Alison, but has led to some painful nursing for Mom (though it is getting better)

But, there is some humor to it---Alison right now looks like she's trying out for the part of the Joker's daughter in the next Batman movie...they gave us Gentian Violet, a topical thing to help both Mom and daughter, the trouble is that:
1) They aren't kidding with that name Violet---wow, is that s**t purple!!!
2) It has to be applied to Alison's mouth, which then gets on the breast...leading to a daughter that looks like this:

See what I mean about the Joker??? (pick your favorite version...)

That's just cool.

P.S. Mommy thinks Alison looks more like Bozo the Clown

(but the Joker is still cooler...)

Look who I see...

Alison was playing in her big girl activity center tonight and guess who she found....

Daddy helped her out...she is still a little short...but with a little help, she was off and running

And boy did she love it...she found lots to facinate her...

And she even had a conversation with a snake (I hope she doesn't end up in Slytherin)

Yankees STINK!!!!!!!!

Well, Alison is being inducted into Red Sox Nation tonight--she is intently watching the Red Sox beat up the Yankees (5-0 in the 4th--YAY!)--here Daddy was teaching her the songs "Tessie" and "Sweet Caroline" and getting her to smile when we booed A-Rod...she is her Daddy's girl!

Truth be told, it's good just to get her to smile, she hasn't been feeling well the last few days. She has been diagnosed with Hand, Foot and Mouth disease (no, not Hoof and Mouth--she's not a cow...geez!)

Seriously, she has little red bumps on her hands and feet, and what looks like blisters in her mouth as well as an off-and-on serious diaper rash. She has her periods of getting fussy...but she is still eating, and while she doesn't always nurse, she did tonight for a bit, so that was encouraging.

The doctor said it was just a virus, and there was nothing we could give her for it, and it should clear up in a few days...it's just tough to see her not feeling well...but we're all doing OK. Anyway, that's it from here--it's just about time to put her to bed....

Goodnight and Go Sox!

A memorable moment--now with video!!

Well tonight was a memorable one in the short but eventful life of Alison Erica Baker-Higgins...a little after 5 p.m. (that's Eastern time for all of our West Coast readers...), Alison rolled over by herself for the first time ever. She was on the living room floor on a play mat and both Mommy and Daddy were here to witness it...in fact, Daddy was on the phone with his mother, so Nana Higgins got a chance to get the radio play-by-play as it was happening....

In fact, we captured some of the event on video --here it is, complete with commentary and a cameo by Teddy "the Wonder Dog"...while we missed the beginning, rest assured she started out flat on her back!!

Graduation Day for Katy and Jimmy Baker

With cousin Cassie and hubby Brian-Allie was at their wedding in October--(just inside her mommy's tummy)

With the graduates-we're so proud of them! And they look so happy...(Ironically, Alison looks like she is having the worst day of her young life...)
